One of the inspectors looks at Diana.
“There it is, over there,” says Diana, pointing at the coat.
“Will you get her out of here?” says Bud.
The other inspector reaches down and picks up the coat. “Wait a second,” he says. He briefly frisks the coat, without noticing the jewels hidden inside.
“What the f– are you clowns going to do about this?” asks Bud.
The inspector hands the coat to Sheriff Peterson.
“Bud,” begins Diana.
“Goodbye, Diane!” says Bud. Sheriff Peterson escorts Diana outside.
“Alright Mister Herman,” says the second inspector, “we know you’re on probation for possession of cocaine. Now I’m going to ask you one more time: do you know what they were looking for?”
“I don’t f—ing believe this!” says Bud.
Outside the beach house, Diana stands next to the sheriff.
“I’m afraid I’m going to have to get some more information from you before I can let you go,” says the sheriff.
“Oh sure!” replies Diana. “Would you mind just walking me to my car?” She points to the limo.
Melville sees Diana and the sheriff heading his way.
“Elle est très forte,” says Melville.
