Ed and Diana are sitting on brownstone steps on a Hollywood backlot, as Diana explains about the stolen emeralds.
“How’d you get involved in all this?” asks Ed.
“The stones are from the scepter of an ancient Persian king,” says Diana. “Remember when the Shah fell, and the royal family fled Iran? The treasury was looted? Somebody got away with a good part of the crown jewels. Well, Hasi was somebody’s cousin. Um, he was gonna give me twenty five thousand dollars. So, I went to Zurich. I went to a vault and everything went fine. He met me at the airport.”
“Who killed Hasi?” asks Ed.
“They want the stones,” continues Diana. “If I lose the stones, ohh I’m dead for sure.” Diana sighs. “The police can’t help me,” she says. “I’m one of the bad guys.”
“Who were those men chasing you at the airport?” asks Ed.
“I don’t know,” says Diana. “I’ve got to make some kind of deal with them.”
“With who?” asks Ed.
“That’s what I have to find out,” replies Diana. “I know they’re all -“
