Bud Herman, confused after meeting Ed outside Christie’s motor home, climbs into the side door of the vehicle. 

Just then, the Kalijak publicist arrives behind Bud with some photos. 

“Bud!” says the publicist.

“Yeah?” asks Bud. 

“For the L.A. Times,” says the publicist, holding out 8×10 photos.  “This? Or this?” 

“They’re both s—t,” replies Bud.

“Thank you,” says the publicist.

“You’re welcome,” says Bud, closing the door. 

Inside the dressing room, Bud talks to Christie.

“Christie,” begins Bud, then notices they’re not alone. “Oh, hi, Di!” 

“Hi Bud!” replies Diana.

“Christie, who’s the clown hanging around in front of your trailer?” 

“Oh, he’s – he’s with me,” replies Diana.  

“Oh, fine,” says Bud. He turns to Christie. “Christie, remember to act scared. This guy has a gun to your head.”

“I know the feeling,” says Diana. 

Bud looks at Diana, confused. “What?” 

“Oh, nothing,” replies Diana. 

“You look beautiful, honey,” says Bud to Christie.

“Aw, thanks, Bud,” says Christie, as they kiss loudly. 

“Good to see you, Di,” says Bud. He leaves. 

“Want a stick of gum?” Christie asks Diana. 

“No, thanks,” says Diana. Christie unwraps the gum and puts another piece in her mouth. 

“So you won’t even ask him?” says Diana. 

“Oh, I’d like to help you,” says Christie, “I really would, but you know, it’s Bud’s house.”

“You live there, too!” says Diana. Christie ignores her as she combs her hair. 

“Christie?” says the Assistant Director, “We’re all ready for you.”

Christie touches up her lipstick with a pen. “Okay, I’ll be right there!” she says. 

“Okay,” says the assistant director, who leaves. Christie continues to chew gum, then turns around in her chair, facing Diana.
