Diana asks Ed where he’s going.“To get a taxi,” replies Ed. “I’ve had enough excitement for one night.”“No,” says Diana, “This is Los Angeles. There aren’t any taxis.”
“I’ll call one,” says Ed, “I’ll call one for you, too.”
“There isn’t time!” replied Diana. “I’m in a lot of trouble.”
“No, I’m the one who’s in trouble now,” says Ed. “It was my car who they towed away.”
“Look, I can get a car,” says Diana. “They could still be after me.”
“Who?” asks Ed. “Who could still be after you? Do you know those guys?”
“No!” says Diana, ” just believe me – – I need to get someplace where I can just try to straighten this whole thing out.”
“Look, I have to find my car, ” says Ed.
“Please?” asks Diana. “Please? Just stay with me for a little while longer. I don’t want to go out alone.”
“This is too weird for me,” says Ed.
“Whatever you want — what do you want?” asks Diana. “I’ll pay you.” “I’m too tired for all this,” says Ed. “I don’t need any more s–t in my life right now. Sorry.” Ed walks away to the end of the alleyway.
Ed spots two of the SAVAK stepping out of their Mercedes. He doubles back to Diana.
“They’re here,” he says to her. She prepares to run but Ed grabs her arm. “But not on foot,” says Ed.
