The sign says “Ship’s Restaurant – Never Closed.”
Ed and Diana are eating ice cream sundaes, delivered to their table by a waitress named “Amy.”“Thanks, Amy,” says Ed.
“Can we have some more coffee, please?” asks Diana.
“Sure,” says Amy, and leaves the table.
“This works, huh?” asks Ed about the sundaes. Diana stubs out a cigarette.
“Well,” says Diana, “always has.”
Ed removes the maraschino cherry with a spoon, and takes a scoop of the ice cream. He ponders a moment, and then says, “You’re right! I feel better.”
Diana nods. “I think I’ll need two,” she says. “What are we going to do?”
“Go to the police,” says Ed.
Amy returns with a pot of fresh coffee. She refills their coffee cups.
