Diana doesn’t know who’s after her and the emerald.\u00a0

“Iranians, or Persians, or something. If they’re on visas, they don’t want trouble,” she says to Ed.<\/p>

“Uh-huh,” says Ed. “Well, this is kind of outside my field…”<\/p>

“Christ, I can’t get ahold of Jack,” continues Diana, ” He would help me.”<\/p>

“Who’s Jack?” asks Ed.\u00a0<\/p>

“He’s a friend of mine,” says Diana.\u00a0<\/p>

“Is he involved in this?” asks Ed.\u00a0<\/p>

“Jack?” Diana laughs, “No. Jack doesn’t need any more money. I guess he doesn’t need me any more, neither.”<\/p>

Ed sits down next to Diana. “Look,” he says, “Maybe if you explain to the police that you’re you were doing what you thought was a job, that – “

“Yeah, what?” says Diana, “That I’m a smuggler?” She laughs, “No.”<\/p>

“Okay,” says Ed, “so now what?”\u00a0<\/p>

“Well,” replies Diana, “I know someone else who could help me. Would you help me get to him?” She looks at Ed. He looks back at her.\u00a0<\/p>

“It’s my only way out of this,” says Diana.\u00a0 Ed continues to look at Diana.\u00a0<\/p>
